Our Programs
Outreach Program and Support Group Meetings
The Outreach Program at My Sister's House, Inc., is committed to providing both support and education to victims of domestic violence in the Trident area. Our goals are to improve community awareness of this complex problem and to open the door to a better life for victims.
Because domestic violence exists among all socioeconomic groups, My Sister's House provides support groups in multiple locations around Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston Counties. Victims in less urban parts of our community need not feel isolated from the services and resources that My Sister's House can offer.
All outreach services are free of charge. Our services include:
- Individual support sessions
- Weekly support groups
- Referral services (including referrals for child care, shelter, legal aid, and counseling)
- Assistance with applying for legal protection and filing court paperwork
- Presentations to schools, workplaces, organizations, hospitals, places of worship, and community groups. Our speakers will explain the dyanamics of relationship violence, discuss how to recognize it, and provide information to help break the cycle of abuse.
